Hi friends,
I want to tell you something a little more personal than I usually share here.
For years, there was a relationship in my life where my boundaries were crossed again and again. This person mattered to me — they held a meaningful place in my life — so I kept making accommodations. I knew, internally, what was happening. I just couldn’t find my way to the hard conversation. So I didn’t have it. Not for years.
And underneath that, quietly, the tension kept building. A kind of internal turmoil that I got so used to carrying, I almost couldn’t recognize it for what it was anymore.
When I finally found the clarity and the capacity to draw that boundary, something happened that actually surprised me: the relief wasn’t just emotional. It was physical. I felt safe in my own skin in a way that genuinely hadn’t been available to me before — because it hadn’t been safe to be around this person while my boundaries kept getting crossed (and yet I was around them a lot). Once I drew the line, that safety came flooding in, and from it, I was able to flourish in ways I never would have imagined while I was still stuck inside that tension.
That’s the whole reason YES/NO & Letting Go exists. It’s not really about learning a technique. It’s about building the internal capacity, clarity, and felt sense to know when a boundary needs to be drawn — and to actually draw it, before years pass you by. I want other people to get to the freedom and safety that’s waiting on the other side of that, without having to wait as long as I did to find it.
